Elisa Martin Garijo has assumed  during 2009 the Chief Technologist position for Spain, leading technology  and innovation in the country with the main objective of  stimulate   smart  solutions in  Spanish companies and institutions   using the technology and the  innovation as a drivers.   In  this role she is the leader of the IBM Innovation  Network , a  community   of   20 professionals able to transmit  innovative experiences  and technology  to enterprises   and to the society  and  connecting clients with IBM Research  bringing   value .    
As a member of IBM’s Academy  of Technology, she participates in investigational studies on the international  and national levels; she holds two patents and several written collaborations  / studies about technical products and processes. She was leading the   technical agenda of  two innovation centres setting up in the country  .   As an executive, she is responsible for maintaining excellence  and vitality in the technical community of IBM Spain  supporting the  second IBM value: Innovation than Matter for our clients and our society.  
Internationally she works as  Chief Architect in Sales & Distribution for IBM’s Southern European  region.  Her responsibility includes leading the deployment of IBM technical  strategies and solutions, following the specific characteristics of  / for each segment of the industry.  Her work is supported by a  team of Executive IT Architects who, by industry, are responsible for  leadership of technical strategy and of the community of professionals. 
As specialist in large company  systems, web architecture and application integration, she has participated  in the design and kick-off of multi-channel solutions, company/corporate  architecture and specific growth/development systems.  She has  worked as Chief Architect in the area of Services Delivery Outsourcing  for IBM Global Services, leading the Infrastructure transformation towards  the On Demand operational model, adapting it to the client’s business  requirements and marking out the processes of efficiency that must sustain  the transformation.  Previously, she headed Architecture and Technology  in the line of negotiations for Business Consulting Services of IBM  Spain. 
As Chief Architect she successfully  led the Architecture, developing and integrating the Application System  for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.  Her extensive experience and  leadership was in the fields of technology, data management, IT infrastructure,  systems administration and application development. 
With a Mathematics degree from  the Complutense Univerisity of Madrid, a Certified Information  Technology Architect in Applications and e-Business Infrastructures,  Elisa has over 25 years of industry experience.
