Image ARCHIVE (www.image-web.org) es la colección privada de imagen y arquitectura más importante del mundo, con más de 4000 archivos multimedia. Sus propietarios son los arquitectos florentinos Marco Brizzi y Paola Giaconia, también responsables del FESTIVAL BEYOND MEDIA (www.beyondmedia.it) Marco Brizzi ha comisariado en Roma el ciclo YAP MAXXI ARCHITECTURE VISIONS: Erratic Language in Architectural Narratives.
ABSTRACT
The lecture will offer the students some observations and thoughts about media and the growth of a cultural awareness about the city. Marco Brizzi and Paola Giaconia will introduce their work and activity with Image www.image-web.org, a group of research devoted to media and architecture since 1997. By introducing some of their works, in particular the BEYOND MEDIA festival www.beyondmedia.it, they will talk about the role of communication as a tool for extending the architect's faculties and to build up an environment for new ideas and spaces in the contemporary city.
